Markus Hametner is a data journalist in Vienna, focusing on the journalistic processing of large amounts of data and complex systems. Hametner has held positions at Der Standard and Addendum, and studied computer science at the Vienna University of Technology. He is also involved in the Viennese NGO Forum Informationsfreiheit, with which he has successfully appealed several times against refusals to provide information by public authorities.
