Choulay Mech is a multimedia journalist from Kandal province in Cambodia. She is passionate about human-interest storytelling and focuses on environmental and animal rights issues. 

Mech studied filmmaking and documentary production at the Bophana Audiovisual Center and trained in journalism with the Cambodian Center for Independent Media. 

Her reporting has been published in the Southeast Asia Globe, Voice of Democracy, and CamboJA News. She also contributed reporting in a 2020 article about Cambodian mental health facilities for The Washington Post. 

Her multimedia work has received recognition by Cambodia's Creative Generation awards, Citizen Engaged in Environmental Justice for All, and SUMERNET-Media-Research Partnership for Environmental Reporting. In 2023, she was selected as an Angkor Photo Festival fellow.
