Yao-Hua Law is a freelance science journalist and podcaster in Malaysia. In 2019, he co-founded Macaranga, an environmental journalism portal focused on Malaysia. Yao-Hua reports on the environment and health, and his stories have appeared on BBC and in Science News, Science, and Nature, among others. He has also produced radio documentaries. His reports have won journalism prizes since 2015, the latest being the One World Media Award in 2020. He received a Pulitzer Center grant in 2020 for Macaranga to report on deforestation dynamics in Malaysia. He loves to eat durians and to observe insects, reliving his days as a full-time insect ecologist.
