Febrianti is a freelance journalist living in Padang, West Sumatra. She has been a contributor to Tempo since 2000. Now she is more focused on making coverage about indigenous peoples in the Mentawai Islands, about their efforts to maintain culture, and also the settlement of deforestation that they face due to the continued exploitation of forests. She worked as an editor at the biweekly newspaper Puailiggoubat media in Mentawai during 2001-2008. In addition to Tempo, her work has also appeared on BBC Indonesia and Equatorial. She is also a member of SIEJ (Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalist).
